Sandor Gonzalez (B. 1977, Cuba)
Young Cuban artist Sandor Gonzalez Vilar dedicated an important part of his creative life –more than five years- to tattooing –an ende avor in which, he says, “you can't make any mistakes.” “A sure and direct line is indispensable”, he stressed. Sandor Gonzalez Vilar does not reject the use of colors in his works but he has preferred to explore all the possibilities the contrast between white and black allow him. “My preference for white and black has its origin in tattooing too… even before that.”
A member of the “Hermanos Saiz” Association of Young Artists, he was the founder and scenographic director of the Brigada Verde artistic group (1997-2000) as well as curator in the Jose Antonio Diaz Pelaez gallery at the San Alejandro Academy.
